KAEFER UK utilised Layher’s award-winning TwixBeam on site at Sellafield, near Seascale.
TwixBeams were integrated into the Allround scaffold in three lines at 6 m lengths on the east elevation stairs to the Decanner Roof.
The purpose of the beams was to span a set area in which it was not possible for legs to be extended to the ground. The Allround scaffold was secured to the TwixBeam assembly and punched off the top chord.
The structure was calculated to stand for 15 to 20 years – providing significant cost savings against a permanent staircase – and additionally provided site access support for a Layher Stair 750.
