FlexBeam

Design flexibility for suspended, cantilevered and curved structures

pastedGraphic.png Winner, NASC Product Innovation of the Year, 2019

The Layher Aluminium FlexBeam is purpose-designed for use with surface scaffolds – both suspended and upright – and represents an alternative to lattice beam structures.

FlexBeam provides an approximately 2.5 times higher bending load capacity, and up to seven times higher shear load capacity, than with e.g. the Steel Lattice Beam 450. The beam’s low height, U-shaped profile allows direct suspension of system decks and is fully compatible with the Layher Allround scaffold system.

One of the key applications simplified by FlexBeam is the installation on curved structures, for example such as bridges, while the product is readily applicable to a variety of suspended designs, together with cantilevered and street gantry applications.

FlexBeam – Key benefits at a glance

  • 40% higher bending load capacity without the need for compression chord bracing
  • Lower construction heights enhance the range of locations that can benefit
  • Wide choice of additional fittings extends suitability further still
  • Product lengths ranging between 4 m – 7 m available
  • Fixing points positioned at 100 mm centres
