Stages and podiums
From concerts and shows to sporting events, the Layher Event Systems of stages, platforms and seating is purpose-designed to meet highly demanding application requirements. Stairways, designed to provide safe access and egress from a site, ensure that the full range of temporary installation needs can be fulfilled by our Event Systems range.

Centred on the original Layher Allround® Scaffolding – which gains significantly from the proven and highly versatile rosette connection system – our range of stands, stages and platforms can accommodate uneven and difficult ground conditions. Event stages, platforms and podiums as well as spectator access systems and seating modules can all be incorporated into a design as required.

Virtually limitless options exist both to extend laterally and also to accommodate a variety of roof and support systems. High load-bearing capacity up to 7.5 kN/m2 combines with rapid assembly and dismantling which can clearly be key issues in the event management industry. With entire structures able to be broken down into palletised units, simple transportation is also assured.

A vast range of options is also opened up by ‘universal parts’ which include, for example, the widest choice of 450mm and 750mm steel and alloy beams,
tri-beams for lighting, rigging and gantry struts, couplers, flat roof edge protection and advanced guard rails.

Site and public access stairtowers can be specified to complement the staging and seating range. Up to eight different options are available which can offer either 1.5 or 2 metre lift heights in a variety of widths to suit a wide range of internal and external site requirements.

Grandstands and seating
Economical, versatile and comfortable – whether located outdoors or indoors, our range of temporary seating options always meets these vital criteria. Designed to work in conjunction with Layher stages, platforms and access stairways, the full range of temporary seat installations needs can be met with proven equipment.

Grandstand platforms can be built with our without seats allowing either free-standing or fitted options to be specified. Variants such as benches – which provide for maximum capacity – and bucket or folding seats can also be selected with clip mechanisms used extensively for rapid, safe assembly. The Event System transom support ensures that each 2.75 metre bay has a
7.5 kNm² load bearing capacity.

The Layher temporary seating range means there are virtually no restrictions on comfort, dimensions or location possibilities with a vast number of temporary and semi-permanent, re-usable seating projects completed worldwide as testimony.

Purpose-designed Event Truss
A range of key advantages – of relevance to everybody involved in the event sector –can now be enjoyed with the Layher Event Truss. Offering a combination of high load capacity and with a fast rigging design, the concept not only complements our full range of event system equipment but also opens up new application opportunities.

Centred on a four-cord configuration, a choice of dimensions and loading capabilities is available, with each installation fully compatible with both system and tube and fit scaffolds. Lengths of between half a metre and five metres can be specified which, when assembled, provide point loads up to 2,078 kgs and uniform loads up to 610 kgs/m. Only a few additional components are required – such as corner pieces, connector units and base plates – enabling an important degree of versatility to be designed into each installation.

The Event Truss is ideal for structures ranging from exhibition stands and display units to concert stages and presentation areas, and the benefits that it offers will be recognised by everybody in the event sector.

Bridging Truss

Whether installed as a footbridge or as a support girder for heavy loads, the new Layher Allround® Bridging Truss system offers a range of benefits to installers of purpose-designed temporary structures, both those involved in general scaffolding and also the event sector. The highly versatile design is fully compatible with the Layher Allround® Scaffold system and features the same wedge-head connection design, and is available in bay sizes of either 2.07 or 2.57 metres to provide a choice of walkway dimensions.

Construction can be made either in-situ or assembled at ground level for craning into position to provide spans of up to 30 metres. In all cases, high strength is a key element of the design – only a 5 cm deflection is noted, for example, over a 24 m span. Additionally, a range of optional fittings can also be specified to include a choice of steel or event decking, Layher ‘Protect’ panels, childproof guard rails and temporary roof sections to offset adverse weather conditions.

Apart from pedestrian walkways, the Bridging Truss can also be used as a clear support girder over obstructions for scaffolding. By building off and upward, podiums or roof structures can then be installed whilst even suspended scaffolding installations can be connected. Where required, several beams can be assembled next to each other for a further increase in foot traffic or as a temporary work platform.

Adhering firmly to Layher’s philosophy of modular design, installations can be achieved almost irrespective of terrain and pedestrian traffic requirements – confirming the Allround® Bridging Truss as a major addition to the Layher range.
