LAYHER SUCCESS PROMPTS STOCKHOLDING AND TRAINING
GROWTH
Layher UK who have achieved a leading position in the
system scaffold field in this country are announcing a
significant development to their Letchworth premises.
The move, which sees an enhancement of both stockholding
capability and support services to customers, is set to
build on the success that the organisation has achieved
during the past three years and since first entering the
UK market in 1982.
The facility, which has acted as Head Office,
administrative centre and principal UK depot for the
company for nine years, has now gained a further 2250
sq. m. (7382 sq. ft.) of external space for storage. In
addition, the company is taking back the operation of
another building on the site – which to date has been
sublet to a third party and which offers a further 2500
sq. m. (8202 sq. ft.) of space – to create, for the
first time, a dedicated Head Office based training
centre and additional internal storage. Managing
Director, Sean Pike, points out that this is planned to
be fully operational by the end of the year.
“The increasing use of modular system scaffolding in
general in this country has combined with the success of
both our established equipment and new products that we
have recently introduced to create ever growing customer
demand,” comments Sean Pike. “This has meant that we are
committed to ensuring that our delivery and support
capability remains second to none which, in terms of
stockholding, has prompted us to improve the facility
that we already have at Letchworth, and at our facility
in Livingston, Scotland – which will also benefit from
an extension to yard and office facilities.
“We are confident that this will allow us to react even
more quickly to customer requirements and, together with
the creation of the new dedicated training centre
alongside, means we are now better placed than ever to
maintain our success long into the future,” he adds.
Since their arrival in this country, Layher UK can point
to a long list of installations for their modular
scaffolding, protection systems, stairtowers and
accessories. The move now to develop the site, which
will continue to operate in conjunction with Layher’
existing office and support facility in Scotland, is
seen as a positive step and one which will be welcomed
by everyone in the building, construction and specialist
access sectors.
